The plan which was unplanned

Some of great moments of my life is happened to be with no plans. I once plan to write a book after my college graduation, but few days after graduation day, I could not even list the-stuff-I-need-to-do to start write the book.

After college, I really want to work in SKK Migas. It’s an Indonesia oil and gas industry regulating body. But particularly it was confirmed that there were no vacancies open. For 3 months after graduation day, I work for one of my campus lecturer private office. It is a consulting and research office. Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, not really far from my flat, but surely still one hell of traffic.

In December, I got an e-mail from a company. It is said that my application is being proceed, and in the next few days, I will receive a phone call. So I did receive a phone call. It is from a lady (which is now my super-ordinate). She said that she work in an accounting firm offices, as a manager. She asked me to come to the office for work interview. Then I remember, I once took a test for becoming an employee of the firm, but did not realize it was in December that I actually made it to next phase. So, cut to the story, we made the schedule for an interview. Afterwards, I got another phone call from HR of the firm, to discuss the offer, duration of initial test performance, monthly benefits, and the date of the first day.

28 December 2015, mark my first day in the office. It has been one year and couple months up to this date. The plan was unplanned. But, either way, it was a important milestone of my life. I sure did learn a lot.

Special thanks to everyone who was, is, and still helping me.

I am grateful.

Betul gak?

Haha

Ga maling duit orang, ga makan duit sembarangan, ga jadi tukang tipu lah pokoknya.

Destiny

Do you believe in destiny? -whisper the nature.

I am afraid it’s not that simple. I believe in regularities. Things that was meant to be, it’s not because if it is meant to be since the day you are born, rather it is because you work for it, and you earn it.

If you give your 50%, you get 50%. If you give your best, you get your best. There is no such thing as luck, you did not seize a chance by luck, either you are capable of it or you stay ready to take any possible opportunities. You stay ready of things that about to come.

So, really, stop saying, “it is his destined”. “he’s/she’s lucky”. You earn it, take the pride!

A Letter from a Friend

I got my head full of  boredom, uncertainty, sadness, doubts, worries, and everything else. and then I wrote a letter to a friend.

Please give me stronger shoulder. I am exhausted, hanging by a thread, almost fainted, honestly I can’t take them all at once.

He replied,

From the day you were born, you were taken care by your parents completely. For once, you lived a life where you know nothing but a fortune. You wake up, you eat, you drink milk, you play toys, and you sleep and everything else like there is nothing to worry. And the days were you went to school, where you know nothing but to study. Your parents take care of your needs and your school fees, and your everything else. Almost anything. When you went to college 5 years ago, your mom accompanied you, stay there for a week. She checked the flat foods, your clothing, your schedules, and other things to keep you up to college days. She need to make sure you are and you will alright, and yet you are.

Not to mention the day you graduate, she, your father, and your brothers came. They ease their time to meet you. 3 months later you got a job, that somehow change the way you are, some to good, and some to bad. Yet, in your first day, she still accompanied you. She takes many wounds than you ever did, but she did not give up.

I heard you once said, that there are 2 important days in someone’s life, the day they were born, and the day they know why. And you said, you already knew why. THIS is is why you came for. This is not even a new thing for you, you have been through tons of miles of hell I could not even describe. You are the strongest person I once knew, hopefully still. This is just another battle, another field, another war, another series, the plot will always be the same, just different opponent.

You. Lived. to. Fight. As it you were, you are, and you will meant to be. Because guys like you, selfless, intelligent, ambitious, are the ones that we need at most. But also, guys like you, are the one who don’t get to live normal life.

So please, Wann, we need you to stay strong, ikhlas-lah dalam melakukan pekerjaan ini,  we need you at your very best.

With love, from a friend,

My heart will always be with you

4947
Cukup jauh bukan? 😉

Saya mengunjungi sebuah kompleks budidaya bibit kentang.

Nah, namun karena ini kompleks milik klien saya, maka kentang tersebut dipakai sebagia bahan baku untuk membuat produk konsumen.*but let’s not get into that

Kerja keras mereka membuat saya senantiasa bersyukur dan lebih terpacu, bahwa setiap orang juga bekerja, it’s not just you, buddy, who work all night, terkadang memang lelah, tetapi kerja adalah bagian hidup yang harus terus berjalan diiringi keikhlasan.

“If you want it all, you need to put it into work”. -Cornell Stokes, Luke Cage, Episode 2, Season 1, Marvel Netflix ABC.

Desa Pangalengan, it was a sanctuary.

Jakarta; and a temporary setback

I came to Jakarta in second quarter of 2011, about 5 and half years ago. It was life moment that I secured a seat in one of most reputable universities in Indonesia, Universitas Indonesia. It was also an opportunity to begin new life in a big city, Jakarta. Before I depart, I told my mother, “From this day on, I don’t go to Jakarta just to study, but also to start my life”. Time went to time, I have graduated from UI, I hold bachelor degree in accounting, August 28, 2015.

3 years of my college, I got money for living from my parents. In early 2014, we went to economic downturn, I was affected from it. But my days got back, I got an offer to be part of internship in one of my college lecturer private office (thanks to him). So I start to earn money for my self in 2015, enough to cover my basic needs, so my parent had to not worry about my necessities.

In November’15, I got accident, which brake my arm. So I went back to Ambon, there was a traditional treatment for an injury like this. the accident changes nearly everything. The injury caused me nothing but disabilities, I cannot work which means I won’t earn any bounties. This resulted huge problem since my family lose one stream of income, while costs increase due to fulfilling my treatment cost (including the medical) and my own basic needs. No insurance from my previous work. I resigned due to illness. It was a huge setback.

But Alhamdulilah, it was just a temporary. I got a call from one workplace  the one I applied before I went to terrible accident. She asked that when I could get ready for interview. I said I am in treatment to heal my arm, she said we will do phone-interview then. Thank God, I passed (thanks to her to). I was officially got offer to work, the one with quite rewarding salary and bonus.

So I went to Jakarta (RE: I am back!). From monday to friday, I go to work by train and public bus for one hour at least, sometimes I was required to go to work in Saturday. I have explored many offices in Jakarta (you know as an auditor staff we are required to spent more time in the client than in our own office). From Sunter North Jakarta to Citeureup Bogor regency, Pulogadung, Cawang, Cikarang, Karawang, Purwakarta, Pasar Minggu, and other places I could not even remember.

I started to earn money not just for my self, but to help my family cover our needs. From being parents liabilities to parents assets. I don’t love money, but I believe we all have to be rich enough so we can take out problems that bother us the most in our life. Now my focus is on two things: performed qualified work and planning on achieving next goals.

Things that happen in the past, and things that about to happen, I am so grateful that I have endured such pains that bring me back to game. It was a beautiful temporary setback.
